Northgate Retail Group

Northgate Retail Group was operating outdated analogue CCTV systems at 11 locations across Mississauga and Brampton. Camera coverage had significant blind spots in stockrooms and loading docks — the areas with the highest shrinkage. Footage quality was too poor to be useful in loss-prevention investigations, and there was no remote monitoring capability for the security team. Two locations had cameras that had been non-functional for over a year.

We replaced all analogue systems with a unified IP camera platform — 4K dome and bullet cameras at each location, with PoE switches feeding into a centralized NVR setup. Coverage maps were designed to eliminate all identified blind spots, with particular attention to stockrooms, POS areas, and loading docks. Remote access was configured for the Northgate security team with role-based permissions. All cabling was run concealed and labelled, and the project was completed across all 11 locations within a 6-week window.

Shrinkage at the pilot locations dropped by 34% in the first quarter post-installation. The security team can now monitor all 11 locations from a single dashboard with 30-day footage retention. Two insurance claims were successfully supported with high-resolution footage within the first three months of operation.
